This Week in Science (Carrying Capacity and Relationships)

What we did this week in science is that we played a game first called O Deer. This game we played is fun because there are natural resources which is food, water, and shelter and there are the deers. Another game we played this week is the card game and it means that we have to match a card that goes with the other by animals. These two games we played made us learn more about the Carrying Capacity and Relationships. Then we watch a videos of Predator pray, Mutual-ism, Commercialism, and Parasitism. And that's pretty much what we learn this week and games we played are fun x).

What we learn this week in science is that we learn new words that are Predator Pray, Mutualism, Commercialism, and Parasitism. The word Predator Pray means when a predator travels and looks for food to hunt and we watch a video of a predator getting food. Mutualism means two organism trading for something to get protection. Commercialism means when one organism is benefit and the other one is not harmful. The last word is Parasitism when a small animal harms another.

First Impressions.

My first impressions about dissecting a frog is that i was surprised and unhappy to do this because i didn't want to do this in my life and i never wanted to look the inside of a frog. I always wounder when are we going to do this since 7th grade but i change my mind of doing this because it's nasty. I wanted to know why are we only dissecting frogs instead of dissecting other animals. I wanted to dissect a snake or any reptile because i always wanted to learn about any dangerous animals that interested in their life and how they get food, shelter, and where do go around. Even though frogs are reptiles, i still don't want to dissect them because it's nasty and they have the same organs as us like heart, liver, and more. But i think it will be fun and scary to do this dissecting and learn new things about frogs.

My Fantasy Habitat

The things that i did this week is learning about animals. The first thing we did to start this lesson that we are working on is pick our favorite animals and explains why we pick that animal. We have to find the information of that animal like what food they eat, where they live, how they survive, and more. This lesson was easy because the work we did makes us understand what kind of animals we get to learn more about. Last year in my science class, we never did any of this and i was hoping that we could do this instead of doing work ourselves and finding what kind of animals we doing.

The things that we learn about animals is that we learn new words that are biome, blome, biotic, and abiotic. The word Biome means what countries does the animal live and what part of the place they live. I found where my animal lives and it lives in the Deciduous Forest. The word Blome means the large area with distinct features meaning what other animals live in the Deciduous Forest which is platypus, chipmunk, black bear, raccoon, blue jay,American bald eagle, quail, brown bear, and a moose. Biotic means living things in that place. Abiotic means non-living things in the place like rocks, soil, sunlight, and Co2.These are the things that i learn the most and understand the work.

This Week in Science:Energy Transfer

The things we did this week is that we learned about food chains and new words that go with the food chain. David, our science teacher show us an example of the animal that eats another. There's five words that we learned which is consumer, producer, primary consumer, secondary consumer, and tertiary consumer.Consumer means any organism that eats another organism for example a hawk eats snake and the hawk is the one who starts to eat the organism.Producer means any organism that makes its own food for example a plat do not eat animals, they make there own food.Second Consumer means an organism that gets its energy from primary consumer and Tertiary Consumer means an organism that gets its energy from second consumer. We learn that animals eat each other and get energy from some non-living things and we understand that they are like the same as us but they're different from our minds. Other five new words that we learn in this lesson is Autotroph, Hetertroph,Herdivore, and Carnivore. These new words have the same definition of the other words but another way to explain the energy pyramid.
